Given :-

• The length of a rectangular room is twice it's breadth.

• Perimeter of the room is = 180.

To Find :-

What are the sides of the room?

Solution :-

Let the length and breadth of the rectangular room be x and y respectively.

As per question :-

Given that,

The length of a rectangular room is twice it's breadth.

Therefore,

x = 2y............ eq(1)

Again, it’s given that

Perimeter of the room is = 180.

Therefore,

2 ( x+ y) = 180

⟼ x + y = 90..........eq(2)

Put x = 2y in eq(2)

x + y = 90

⟼ 2y + y = 90

⟼ 3y =90

⟼y = 30

Put y = 30 in eq(1)

x = 2y

⟼ x = 2 × 30

⟼ x =60

Hence, length and breadth of the rectangular room are 60 unit and 30 unit respectively.
