Solution :

Given :

In a right angled triangle :

  • Length of one of the side = 4.5 cm
  • Length of the hypotenuse = 7.5 cm
  • Length of the third i.e other side = ?

To solve this problem we have to learn a theorem in of right angled triangle

Pythagoras theorem :Il In a right angle triangle, square of hypotenuse is equal to the sum of square of other two sides.

Therefore,

⇒ (Length of one side)² + (Legth of the other side)² = (Length of hypotenuse)²

Let the length of the other side be x cm

Substituting the values

⇒ ( 4.5 )² + x² = ( 7.5 )²

⇒ 20.25 + x² = 56.25

⇒ x² = 56.25 - 20.25

⇒ x² = 36

⇒ x² = 6²

⇒ x = 6

Hence, the length if the third side is 6 cm.
