Let Length of room =l m
__Breadth of room = l-3 m
Area of rectangular room = lĂ(l-3)= l^2-3l
Length of new room = l+3
Breadth of new room = (l-3) -2 = (l-5)
Area of new room= (l+3)Ă(l-5)= l^2-2l-15
ATQ
Area of old room = Area of new room
l^2-3l = l^2-2l-15
l=15
Breadth = l-3= 15-3=12
so length and breadth of the room are 15 & 12 respectively.
