the distance from centre to a point = 10cm

tangent = 8cm

we know tangent ⟂ radius

so we get a right angled triangle

so height = 8cm/ base = radius/ hypotenuse = 10cm

now, use pythagorean theorem,

8^2 + radius^2 = 10^2

64 + radius^2 = 100

radius^2 = 100-64

radius^2 = 36

radius = \sqrt{36} = 6cm
