The length of day and night is not equal at all place on the earth, because -
- The main reason behind the different lengths of day and night, at different places on earth, is the tilting of the Earth's axis at the angle of 23.5 degrees.
- Now, the tilted earth revolves around the sun in an elliptical orbit throughout a whole year or 365 days.
- So, when northern half of the earth is tilted towards the sun it faces summer season and longer daytime, shorter night time. At the same time, the other half faces winter season and shorter nights, longer days.
- In this way, the different lengths of days and nights are occured at different places on the earth.
