Solution:
Let the third side of triangle be X
Therefore:
Length of equal sides = 4+2x
Now perimeter= 48
:-: (4+2x)+(4+2x)+X = 48
:-: 4+4+2x+2x+X = 48
:-: 8+5x = 48
:-: X = 48-8/5
:-: X = 8
Therefore dimensions are
X = 8m
Equal sides = 4+2x
= 4+2×8
= 20m
Therefore sides of triangle
= 20m , 20m and 8m
