Angle covered in 1 minute is 6 degrees
Angle covered in 5 minutes is 30 degrees

Area = theta/360 x pi x r x r
= 30/360 x pi x 14 x 14
= 1/12 x 22/7 x 14 x 14
= 1/6 x 11/7 x 14 x 14
= 1/6 x 11 x 2 x 14
= 1/3 x 11 x 2 x 7
= 51.34 sq. cm

Answer:

51.33 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

Radius = 14 cm

From 0 - 5 minutes, angle is 30° (90°/3)

Area of sector of circle = θ/360 × πr²

30/360 × 22/7 × 14 × 14

3/36 × 22/7 × 196

1/12 × 616

Area swept by the minute hand is 51.33 cm².
