Math, asked by kristinnreyes, 1 year ago

the length of one leg of a right triangle is 21 ft and the other hypotenuse is 29 ft
what is the length of the other leg?

and can someone please tell me what hypotenuse is? im not understanding!?!?!?!

(im giving brainliest to whoever solves this math problem first and correctly and gives me a little help)

kristinnreyes: so im doing some practice at home and i need to know the same question but with lengths of 20 ft and 52 ft
kristinnreyes: and 8 cm and 15 cm
kristinnreyes: if anyone can give me some info on the two problems please let me know

As given in the question that it is a right angled triangle,

Then,

By Pythagoras theorem,

Hypotenuse² =(first leg)²+(second leg)²

Hypotenuse and one is given, So,

(29)² =(21)² +(other leg)²

841 -441 =(other leg)²

400 = (other leg)²

√400 =other leg

20ft = other leg

Then,

Lenght of other leg is 20ft

I hope this will help you

Hypotenuse is the one of the side of triangle whose square is equal to the adittion of the square of other two sides of triangle.

AB2=AC2+BC2

so, here AB is the hypotenuse

****Hypotenuse is the longest side of the triangle. *****In a right angle triangle the opposite side of the perpendicular is hypotenuse side.

We knowl that in a right angle triangle three sides r which is AB, BC, AC (any other)

In this ques, we have one side of triangle is 21feet ,let AC
hypotenuse is29feet ,let AB

now we applying pythagorus triplet which r the
square of hypotenuse of a triangle is equal to addition of the square or other two side of triangle

AB2=AC2+BC2

(29)square=(21)square+(BC) 2

841=441+BC2

841-441=BC2

400=BC2

root 400=BC

20=BC

then the length of other side or leg of this triangle is 20feet which is BC

hope this helps u...
