the length of parallel sides of trapezium are in the ratio 7:5 and the distance between them is 14cm of the area of trapezium is 252cmsquare . Find length of its parallel sides.

Here is your answer:

The ratio of parallel sides are - 7 : 5.

So, Let the lengths be 7x & 5x.

We know that,

Ar\ of\ trapezium= \frac{1}{2}\times height (Sum\ of\ parallel \ sides)

⇒  252= \frac{1}{2} \times 14 \times (7x + 5x)

⇒ 252 =  7 (12x) = 84x

⇒ x =  \frac{252}{84} = 3

The parallel sides are: 7x = 7 × 3 = 21 cm
                        
                                      5x = 5 × 3 = 15 cm
