Answer:

l=x, y+5 other case x-4,y+1

b=y other case 2y

area=xy

y(y+5) area

new area =y2+5y+40=2y(y+1)

2y2+2y=y2+5y+40

y2-3y-40=0

by solving this eqn we get -5,8

as l,b cant be negative y=8

x=13

hope it helps mark it as brainliest plzz follow me

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

let the breadth x  meter

∴length is x+5

ATQ

if breadth doubled is become 2x and length will be x+5-4 meter

area of rectangle=2x×(x+1)

∴x²+5x+40=2x^{2} +2x

40=2x²+2x-5x-x²

40=x²-3x

40=x(x-3)

∴x=40 or x-3=40

∴x=40 or x=43

∴lenght is 43 m and breadth is 40m
