Explanation:

Let it's breadth be x.

Then it's length=(x+14)

According to the question,

2*{x+(x+14)}=448

=> 2*{2x+14}=448

=> 4x+28=448

=> 4x=448-28

=> 4x=420

=> x=420/4

=> x=105

So , it's length=(x+14) m =(105+14) m = 119 m

Hence,it's breadth is 105 m & it's length is 119 m.

Given:

The length of the rectangle is 14cm more than its breadth.

The perimeter of the rectangle is 448cm

To be found:

the dimensions(length and breadth value) of the rectangle.

So,

Let the breadth of the rectangle be 'b' cm

So, The length of the rectangle will be = (b+4) cm (ATQ)

Now.

  • The formula to find the perimeter of a rectangle is

= 2(length + breadth) units

⇒ 2( (b+14) + b) = 448

⇒ 2b + 14 = 448 ÷ 2

[Taking 2 to RHS]

⇒ 2b + 14 = 224

⇒ 2b = 224 - 14

[Taking 14 to RHS]

⇒ 2b = 210

⇒ b = 210 ÷ 2

[Taking 2 to RHS]

⇒ b = 105

∴ The breadth of the rectangle is 105 cm

And the length of the rectangle is 105 + 14 = 119 cm
