by Pythagoras theorem,

OT^2 + PT^2 = OP^2

OT^2 = OP^2 - PT^2

OT^2 = 17^2 - 8^2

OT^2 = 289 -64

OT^2 = 225

OT = √255

OT = 15

Answer:

15 cm

According to the Pythagoras theorm

AB^2=AC^2+BC^2

(17)^2=AC^2+8^2

AC^2=17^2 - 8^2

AC^2 = 289 - 64

AC^2 = 225

AC = 15 CM

therfore required radius of the circle is 15 cm
