the length of diagonal of 1st sq=10 cm
side of 1st sq=10/root2=5root2
side of 2nd square =10 cm
area of 1st square =(5root2)^2=50 sq cm
areaof 2nd square =10^2=100 sq cm
required ratio =50/100=1:2
