We know that length of the line segment whose

end point are (x

1

,y

1

) and (x

2

,y

2

) is

d=

(y

2

−y

1

)+(x

2

−x

1

)

2

Let (3,−1)=(x

1

,y

1

) and (6, 5) = =(x

2

,y

2

)

∴ d =

(y

2

−y

1

)+(x

2

−x

1

)

2

=

(6)

2

+(3)

2

=

36+9

=

45

=

9×5

=3

5

So length of the line segment whose end

point are (3, -1) and (6, 5) is 3

We know that length of the line segment whoseend point are (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) is

d=(y2−y1)+(x2−x1)2

Let (3,−1)=(x1,y1) and (6, 5) = =(x2,y2)

∴ d = (y2−y1)+(x2−x1)2

= (6)2+(3)2=36+9

= 45=9×5=35

So length of the line segment whose end

So length of the line segment whose endpoint are (3, -1) and (6, 5) is 35
