Answer:

Length = 3 ft.

Width = 3 ft.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the length be x and width be y

According to the question, x= 2y-3.....(i)

and x*y=9......(ii)

Putting the value if (i) in (ii)

(2y-3)*y=9

=> 2y²-3y=9

=>2y²-3y-9=0

=>2y²-6y+3y-9=0

=>2y(y-3)+3(y-3)=0

=>(2y+3)(y-3)=0

=>y=3,-1.5

But the value of width cannot be negative

=>y=3.....(iii)

Putting value of (iii) in (ii)

x*3=9

=>x=3

=>Length = 3 ft.

=>Width= 3ft.
