Given: The length of the rectangle is 4 out of 3 of its breadth and its perimeter is 84m.

To find: The area of the rectangle

Solution: Let the length and breadth of the rectangle be l m and b m respectively.

According to the given problem,

l=(\frac{4}{3} )b

The perimeter of a rectangle is given by 2(l+b).

We know, 2(l+b)=84

          i.e.,(l+b)=42

          i.e.,\frac{4}{3} b+b=42

          i.e.,\frac{7}{3}b=42

          i.e.,7b=126

          i.e.,b=18m

Therefore,l=\frac{4}{3}b=24m

Area of rectangle is given by (l×b)=(18×24)

                                                       =432m^{2}

The area of the rectangle is 432 m^{2}.
