Answer:

length = x,

breadth = y

perimeter = 180m

x = 2y ....... (1.)

Therefore,

2( x + y ) = 180 ........ (2.)

then put (1) in (2)

2 ( 2y + y ) = 180

Solve the equation

2(3y) = 180

6y = 180

y = 180/6

y = 30

thus, x = 2y

x = 2× 30

x = 60

Now, Area 9f rectangular plot = length× breadth

= x × y

= 60 × 30 m

= 1800m².

Required Answer:

✒️ GiveN:

  • Length of the rectangle is twice it's breadth.
  • Perimeter of the rectangle = 180 m

✒️ To FinD:

  • Area of the rectangle.....?

How to solve?

We can solve this question by using the perimeter and area of the rectangle formula that is,

  • Perimeter of the rectangle ➙ 2(l + b)
  • Area of the rectangle l×b

Here,

  • l = length
  • b = breadth.

Solution:

We have,

  • Length = 2(Breadth)

Let,

  • Breadth of the rectangle be x, then length would be 2x.

We have, Perimeter

➝ 2(2x + x) = 180 m

➝ 2(3x) = 180 m

➝ 6x = 180 m

➝ x = 180/6 m = 30 m

Then,

  • Length of the rectangle = 2 × 30 m = 60 m
  • Breadth of the rectangle = 30 m

Finding the area,

➝ l × b

➝ 60 m × 30 m

1800 m²

✍️ Area of the rectangle = 1800
