In context to questions asked,

We have to express the value of perimeter and area in term of X, where X is the value of side of square.

As we know that,

Area of square is equal to,

area =  {side}^{2}

So, for determining the value of area we will put the value of side in above formula.

Thus we will get,

area =  {x}^{2}  \: {unit }^{2}

As we know that,

perimeter = 4 \times sides = 4 \times x = 4x \: unit

To express : perimeter and area of square in terms of x .

Given : length of side of square = x

Solution :

  • We know that all four sides of square are equal .
  • If ' x ' is the side of square then perimeter of square is given by,
  • Perimeter of square =4 x
  • Similarly , to find area we multiply length of side of square two times that is we find square of length of side .
  • Area of square = x^{2}

Hence, perimeter and area of square are expressed as 4x and x^{2} in terms of x .respectively.
