Given:-

  • Length of 1st Rectangle = 16m

  • Breadth of 2nd Rectangle = 14m

  • Length of 2nd Rectangle = 8m

  • Breadth of 2nd Rectangle = 7m

To Find:-

  • The Ratio of their areas.

Formulae used:-

  • Area of Rectangle = Length × Breadth.

Now,

→ Area of 1st Rectangle = L × B

→ Area of 1st Rectangle = 16 × 14

→ 224m²

Therefore,

→ Area of 2nd Rectangle = L × B

→ Area of 2nd Rectangle = 8 × 7

→ 56m²

Hence,

→ Ratio of their area = \rm{\dfrac{224m^2}{56m^2}}

→ Ratio of their area = \sf{\dfrac{4}{1}}.

So, Their ratio of their areas is 4:1.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

The length of two rectangles are 16 and 8, and breadth are 14 and 7.

To find:-

Find the ratio of their area

Solution:-

The lengths of two rectangles = 16units and

8 units

Length of the first rectangle =(L1)=16 units

Length of the second rectangle=(L2)= 8 units

The Breadths of two rectangles = 14 units and 7units

Breadth of the first rectangle=(B1)=14 units

Breadth of the second rectangle=(B2)=7 units

Formula:-

If the length L units and breadth B units then its area =B sq.units

Area of the first rectangle =L1×B1

A1 =>16×14

A1=>224 sq.units...(1)

Area of the second rectangle=L2×B2

A2=>8×7

A2=>56 sq.units......(2)

Now,Ratio of their areas =A1:A2

=> A1:A2= 224:56

=> A1:A2=(4×56)/56

=> A1:A2=4/1

=> A1:A2=4:1

Answer:-

The ratio of the two rectangles=4:1
