 {x}^{2 } \:  + x {}^{2}  = 800
2x { {}^{2} }^{}  = 800 \\ x {}^{2} = 400 \\ x =  \sqrt{400}  \\ x = 20
Hence the length of the sides is 20 cm.

Let the similar sides of the right angled triangle be x

square of the hypotenuse = 800 cm^2 (given)

Then according to the Pythagoras Theorem,

In a right angled triangle the square of hypotenuse is equal to the sum of squares of the other two sides

So,

x^2 + x^2 = 800

2x^2 = 800

x^2 = 800/2

x^2 = 400

x = √400

x = 20

Hence the length of the similar side in the right angled triangle is 20 cm
