Given,

Length of the rectangular floor of a room = 6 meters

Breadth = 2 meters

Length of each floor tile = 10 cm

The breadth of each floor tile = 5 cm

Cost of each floor tile = Rs. 5

To find,

The total cost of fitting tiles on the rectangular floor of the room.

Solution,

We can simply solve this mathematical problem using the following process:

As per mensuration;

Area of a rectangle = length × breadth

Now, according to the question;

Area of the rectangular floor of the room

= length of the rectangular floor of a room × breadth

= 6m × 2 m

= 600 cm × 200 cm

{Since I meter = 100 centimeters}

= 1,20,000 cm^2

Now, the area of each floor tile

= length × breadth

= 10 cm × 5 cm

= 50 cm^2

Now, according to the question;

The total number of floor tiles required for the floor

= (area of the rectangular floor of the room)/(area of each floor tile)

= (1,20,000 cm^2)/(50 cm^2)

= 2,400 tiles

Now, the total cost of fitting tiles in the rectangular floor of the room

= (total number of floor tiles required) × (cost of each tile)

= 2,400 tiles × Rs. 5

= Rs. 12,000/-

Hence, the total cost of fitting tiles in the rectangular floor of the room is Rs. 12,000/-.
