the lengths of three pieces of wire are in the ratio 10 :15 :8. If the length of the shortest piece of wire is 2.4 m. Find the differencs in the lengths of the other two.

3:4,5:2.4 2.4/4*5
= 3 (8/4= 2 2*5=10)
= 3/2*3
= 4,5 (10/2*3=15)

let the length of the first piece of wire be 10x
second piece 15x
third piece be 8x
acc. to the question....
8x(shortest piece)=2.4cm
x=2.4/8=0.3
first piece=10x=10*0.3=3 cm
second piece=15x=15*0.3=4.5cm
difference(length of second piece-first piece)=4.5-3=1.5cm

Ahmedsaroosh: if we divide 15 by 0.3 it comes 50, your answer is correct but the way u did it is not correct
