the lengths of two parellel edges of a railway platform are 100m and 132m. each of the remaining two non parellel but equal sides are 20m long, then find the area of platform.

Here two tracks are parallel to each other and other two are equal so fig act as a trapezium
so, area of trapezium = 1/2×(sum of parallel sides)×non parallel sides
=1/2×(100+132)×20
=1/2×232×20
=2320
