Two parallel stories run in the chapter, How I Taught My Grandmother. The one is the story of Krishtakka, Sudha Murty’s grandmother and the other is that of the old lady, the protagonist in the novel Kashi Yatre that was published in the weekly, Karamveera.
Both the women are quite inspiring. The one inspires us with the sacrifice she made by spending her saved money to get an orphan girl married. The other inspires us by making all the efforts and struggle to learn Kannad language at the age of sixty-two.
