Ali is an hunter , and he is a great and main
character of the the story letter , whole of his life is filled with loneliness , there are many incidence which is brought by the writer dhumketu that , he is a alone and upset people , he used to go to go the post office at 4 o'clock of the morning daily even in time of winter season , withought fearing feeling cold , he wakes up early ,and he is Alone in his house , which tells us how his life is ? he is too alone that no one helps him , but he got only a selfish chance for help only his death time is this favourable ? really his life is filled with the sadness which forcibly he could't tell , he waits for a letter of his daughter Miriam who marry , and go off to punjab , now obviously he becomes alone

In this story ali is lovely man obviously. When his daughter miriam left her father because she did marry with regiment of army a officers
In Punjab and left alone his father. When she left him and then Ali knows the love and separation between all the creatures. Thanks i hope so it helps you
