The mean life time of the component 50 hours.

Given,

a=0.2

b=0.5

To Find,

the mean life time of the component.

Solution:

We know that,

E(X)=a^{-1/b} Γ(1+1/b)

E(X)=0.2^{-1/0.5}Γ(1+ 1/0.5)

E(X)=25Γ(1+2)

E(X)=25Γ(3)

E(X)=25*2!

E(X)=50 hours

thus, the mean life time of the component 50 hours.
