Undoubtedly, parents play a pivotal role in the mental and
physical development of a child. Children of encouraging and motivating parents
often develop stronger, both mentally and physically. On the other hand parents
who always discourage and criticize their children, contribute to the stunted
development of their children.
Bholi’s parents never ever encouraged her. They always
considered her a wretched and piteous girl who was born to be doomed. Hence,
Bholi could never come out of her limitations.
However, when a loving, considerate, and kind teacher spoke
encouragingly to Bholi, the miracle happened. Not only she overcame her shyness
and strutting, she became self-confident also.
The same Bhloli, took a very daring and wise decision at the time of her wedding. She dared to refuse to get married to Bishmaber, when he demanded five thousand rupees as dowry and who was much elder to her in year
