Required Answer:

Here too, No graph is provided but some information regarding a book bought by Lucy is given.

  • Years since she bought is represented in X axis.
  • The value of the book increasing in the subsequent years in represented in Y axis.

The points given:

  • (1 , 40)
  • (2, 55)
  • (3, 70)
  • (4, 85).......and so on.

After 1 year of buying of the book, the value increases to 40 dollars. Then, after 2 years, it increases to 55. Similarly to 70 and 85 dollars respectively in the third and fourth years.

  \rm{ \longrightarrow{Increase \: in \: value = 55 - 40 = 15}}

This is increasing consistently in an uniform manner. The increase is of 15 dollars in the successive years.

Before 1 year of book bought by Lucy, the initial amount should be 15 dollars less than the successive first year. This means that:

Value of the book bought by Lucy

  • 40 - 15 = 25

  \large{ \therefore{ \underline{ \boxed{ \bf{ \gray{Option \: C}}}}}}

And we are done !!
