MARKED PRICE : The Marked price (MP) or listed price of an article is the price printed on the article itself or on the packaging or a slip attached to the article.

DISCOUNT : •When a dealer sells an article for a price that is lower than the MP, the difference between the Marked price (MP) and the selling price (SP) is called discount.
•when a dealer allows a two  successive discounts of d1% & d2% on the MP, then the SP is calculated by the following formula :
SP = (1 - d1/100) (1- d2/100) × MP
SOLUTION :

Given :
List price (MP) = ₹ 300, d1 = 15, d2 = 10
SP = (1 - d1/100) (1- d2/100) × MP

SP = (1 - 15/100) (1 - 10/100) × 300
SP = (1 - 3/20) ( 1- 1/10) × 300
SP = (20 -3)/20 (10 - 1)/10 × 300
SP = 17/20 × 9/10 × 300
SP = (17 × 27) /2 = ₹ 229.50
Hence, the selling price will be = ₹ 229.50

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Listing price = 300

After first discount = 15% of 300 = 45

= 300 – 45 = 255

After second discount = 10% of 255 = 25.5

= 255 – 25.5 = 229.50
