the llel sides of a trapezium are 20cm and 10cm .its non llel sides are both equal, each being 13cm. find the area of trapezium

satyam137: draw DE perpendicular on AB and CF on AB now,in triangle AED and BFC Angle E=Angle F (90') AD = BC (given) DE=FC so these triangle became congruent. then from cpct theorem AE =FB AB=AE+EF+FB=20. 20-10=2AE. 10=2AE. AE=5. NOW FROM PYTHAGORAS THEOREM DE^2=AD^2-AE^2. DE^2=169-25. DE^2=144. DE=12CM. NOW ar of trap. =1/2×30×12=30×6=180cm^2

llel sides=20and 10cm
non llel sides=13cm
area of trapezium =1/2×(sum of llel sides)×height
=1/2(20+10)×13
=1/2×30×13
=195cm^2

satyam137: sorry but .it is wrong ans you can recheck
satyam137: write ans is 180
