Minimum length of the shortest side is 50 cm if The longest side of a triangle is twice the shortest side and third side is 3 cm longer than shortest side and perimeter of triangle is more than or equal to 203 cm

Given:

  • A triangle
  • The longest side of a triangle is twice the shortest side
  • Third side is 3 cm longer than shortest side
  • Perimeter is more than or equal to 203 cm

To Find:

  • Minimum length of the shortest side

Solution:

  • Perimeter of a triangle is sum of lengths of all three sides of the triangle.

Step 1:

Assume that Shortest side is x  cm

Then Longest sides = 2x  cm

and Third side = x + 3 cm

Step 2:

Perimeter of more than or equal to 203 cm

x + 2x + x + 3 ≥ 203

=> 4x ≥ 200

=> x ≥ 50

Hence, minimum length of the shortest side is 50 cm

Correct option is 50 cm
