Chandalas were the individual who deals with the discarding of corpses. hence considered as untouchables .these activities were considered as impure hence, these people used to live outside residential areas and multiple activities were restricted and prohibited for them.

While women were also subjected to lower status than man and widows were lived the life of misery . yet, they were not the lowest section of hindu society.
