Answer:50

Explanation:

Work done /time =power

(3.6 x no. Of times expanded)/time=3watt

3.6 x n/60sec =3

Therefore

n=50

Given :

Work done by lungs during each expansion (W) = 3.6 J

Power (P) = 3 W

To Find :

The number of times per minute do the lungs expand.

Solution :

We know,

      Power (P) =  \frac{Work Done (W)}{Time (T)}

⇒        3           = \frac{3.6}{Time (T)}

⇒    Time (T)    =  1.2 sec

In 1.2 seconds, number of times the Lungs expand = 1

In 60 seconds, number of times the Lungs expand = \frac{1}{1.2} × 60

                                                                                     =  50

∴ The number of times per minute the lungs expand if their power is 3W is 50.
