MgCl2 formed by the transfer of electrons as Mg have its valency +2 and chlorine has its valency -1 so the product form is MgCl2. solution of magnesium chloride conduct electricity because it has H+ ions in the solution as MgCl2 is dissolved in H2O to form solution of magnesium chloride.
