The magnetic moments of Cu (Z = 29), Ti (Z = 22), and  Cr (Z = 24) are in the ratio of (c) 1 :2: 6

Explanation:

Magnetic moment = √n(n+2)

n = number of unpaired electrons

Now we will calculate the number pf unpaired electrons.

Cu = [Ar] 3d¹⁰ 4s¹      n = 1

Ti = [Ar] 3d² 4s²        n = 2

Cr = [Ar] 3d⁵ 4s¹        n = 6

Now we will calculate the magnetic moment.

For Cu:

√n(n+2)

√1(1+2)

√3 = 1.7

For Ti:

√n(n+2)

√2(2+2)

√8 = 2.8

For Cr:

√n(n+2)

√6(6+2)

√48 = 6.9
