Answer:

Given:

A plane mirror has been provided.

To find:

Magnification of the plane mirror

Concept:

Magnification of any mirror is given by the formula as follows :

mag. =  \frac{ - v}{u}  =  \frac{hi}{ho}  \\

where v => image distance, u => object distance , hi => image height and

ho=> object height.

For a plane mirror

  • hi = ho
  • u = - v

If we substitute any one of the following values , we get :

mag. = 1

Magnification = 1 signifies erect , virtual image and same size as that of the object.

So option 1) is correct .

The magnification produced by a plane mirror is

Answer is +1

 1). Formula of magnification in mirror is

        M =    -V2/V1

2).   where M is magnification

  V2 is Distance of Image from mirror in Direction of light

  V1 is distance of object from mirror In direction of light

  3). Image and object are on different side of mirror and at a same distance from mirror

       V2 = -V1

 putting this in magnification formula we get

      M =1
