~ It has a jacket formed by eight shield cells.

~ Produce many band shaped, spirally coiled, biflagellate antherozoids.

FEMALE SEX ORGAN IN CHARA:

~ It is known as Oogonium or Nucule.

~ It has a jacket formed by five tube cells.

~ It contains single egg which is laden with starch and oil globules.

* The sex organ of character are born on adaxial surface of the short lateral branch on each node.

* Nucule occupies an upper position than Globule.

* The Globule matures prior to Nubile. (Protandrous condition)
