ANSWER

Printed price=Rs.1600

Discount=20%

Discount price=20% of 1600=

100

20

×1600=Rs.320

Price of camera after discount=1600−320=Rs.1280

rate of sales tax=6%

∴Tax paid by the shopkeeper=

100

6

×1280=Rs.76.80

Shopkeeper Sell it at printed price to the buyer=Rs.1600

Tax paid by the buyer=

100

6

×1600=Rs.96

(i)The price at which the camera can be bought from the shopkeeper=1600+96=Rs.1696

(ii)VAT=tax paid by the buyer-tax paid by the shopkeeper

VAT=96−76.80=Rs.19.20
