Step-by-step explanation:

If you have a gross amount and want to determine the net value, then simply divide the gross value by 1.xx to provide the net value, where xx is VAT rate.

If you have a figure you want to add VAT against, multiply by 0.xx to find the VAT value or 1.xx to find the gross value including VAT, where xx again is VAT rate.

With simple calculation for your figure of 2,034 / 1.13 = 1,800 is the price without VAT.

M.P. = Rs.1600

First discount = 10%

∴ Net price after 1st discount

= Rs.1600 − 10% of Rs.1600

= Rs.1600 − Rs.160

= Rs.1440

S.P. = Rs.1224

∴ Second discount

= Rs.1440 − Rs.1224

= Rs.216

∴ Rate of second discount

= 1440/216 ×100

= 15% ANSWER
