so his cost price is 500-25=475
as told that he makes a profit of 25% so his new cost price is 25%of500+475
so 125+475=600..

S.P=(100+25/100)x X
S. P=rs125/100x
MP of the item = rs500
Discount %=15%
=Discount =15%of 260=5/100x500=rs 25
SP=MP-discount =rs (500-25)=rs475
from equation 1 and 2 we get
125/100x=475
therefore x=475×100/125= Rs 380.
