The mass and weight of an object on earth are 5kg and 49N respectively what will be their values on the moon? Assume that the acceleration due to gravity on the moon is 1/6th of that on the earth.

Mass will remain same because mass doesn't affected by action of gravity and
Weight = mass × gravity. As gravity value at moon is 1/6 of gravity of earth
Therefore weight will be = mass × gravity/6
= 5× 9.8/6
= 8.1666..........
= 8.17 N
Hope it will be helpful.

mass will be same (5kg)
and weight will be (1/6of49N) =8.1666666667
because acceleration due to gravity on the Moon is 1/6 of Earth.
