Thus, mass defect will be -

Δm = 0.3%×1

=3×10`³

The energy released in nuclear fusion reaction is given by - E = Δmc²

Thus, according to the formula -

E = Δm.c²

= E =0.3/1000 × (3 × 10`8)²

= 2.7 × 10`13J    

= 2.7 × 10`13/ 3.6 × 10⁶

= 7.5 × 10⁶

Therefore,  the amount of energy liberated in kilowatt hours is 7.5 × 10⁶ Kwh.
