Chemical Formula of the Potassium Nitrate = KNO₃.
Molar Mass of the Potassium Nitrate = 102 g/mole.
Mass of the Potassium Nitrate = 1 kg.
= 1000 g.

Mass of the Oxygen present in one mole of Potassium Nitrate = 48 g.

∵ 102 g of the Potassium Nitrate contains 48 grams of the Oxygen.
∴ 1 grams of the Potassium Nitrate contains 48/102 grams of the Oxygen.
∴ 1000 grams of the Potassium Nitrate contains (48/102) × 1000 g of the Oxygen.
 = 470.58 grams.

Hence, the Mass of the Oxygen in 1 kg (or 1000 g) of the Potassium Nitrate is 470.58 grams.

Hope it helps.

KNO3=1000g

K=39

N=14

O3=48

KNO3=101u

O3= 48/101×1000

=0.47524 × 1000

= 475.2g
