given that principal quantum number is 3 that is n=3
no. maximum electron in nth shell =2n²
therefore for n=3,
maximum number of electron=2(3)²=18
in shell orbitals are present and the maximum capacity of electron present in orbital is 2 with opposite spin
therefore the number of electrons with negative spin present in the third shell will be 18/2=9
so there will be 9 electrons with negative half spin
