the mean age of 10 students of a class is 15. If the age of the teacher is also included the mean age becomes 17. Find the age of the teacher?

Answer:

Sum of ages of students / 10 = 15 ( by mean formula)

Sum of ages of students = 10 × 15 = 150

Now , after adding teachers one , Mean is 17.

Now , number of observation is 11 . Hence , the sum of ages including students and teachers is 17 × 11 = 187

Now , Teachers age = 187 - 150 = 37.
