Given mean age of 6 members = 25

Mean = Sum total/number of observations or people
so, Sum total = Mean* Number of people
Sum total of ages of 6 members = 25*6 = 150 years.
Now, a 45 year old member leaves.
New sum = 150 - 45 = 105
Number of members now = 5

Mean of 5 members = 105/5 = 21
Hope it helps

mean=sum of observation/number of observation

sum of observation=mean×number of observation

total ages of 6 members=25×6=150 years

A 45 year member leaves

so,

150-45=105

number of member now = 5

MEAN=SUM OF OBSERVATION / NUMBER OF OBSERVATION

=105/5

=21 years
