The mean monthly salary of 11 people is equal to ₹ 2900

Given,

Mean monthly salary of 10 people =

₹ 2890

=> Sum of salaries 10 people / 10 = 2890

=> Sum of salaries of 10 people = ₹ 28900

When 11th person having a salary of ₹3000 is also included -

Mean salary = ( sum of salaries of 10 people + ₹3000)/ 11

=> Mean = 31900/11

=> Mean = ₹2900

Mean salary = ₹2900

Since, mean monthly salary of 10 people =₹2,890.

Total monthly salary of 10 people is 10×₹2890=₹28900.

On adding the salary of the 11th person,

Total monthly salary of 11 people =₹28,900+₹3,000=₹31,900

Average monthly salary ₹31,900/11=₹2900
