The mean of 11 observations is 50 . If the mean of first six observations i.s 49 and that of last six observations is 52 , then the sixth observation is?

Sum of the values of all observation = 11 X 50 = 550
Sum of first six(1+2+3+4+5+6) = 6 X 49 = 294....................(A)
Sum of last six (6+7+8+9+10+11) = 6 X 52 = 312 ...............(B)
In case (A) and (B) combined, 6th appears twice.
So, [(A) + (B)] - 550 =  6th 
294+312 - 550 = 606-550 = 56

comet: 550 is the sum of all 11 observations ( 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10+11) and in (A) + (B) we have all 11 observations plus one extra 6t observation ..so subtracting both we will get the 6th one only
