According to question
Mean to 12 numbers = 24
=> (a1 + a2 + a3 +.......... + a12) / 12 = 24
=> a1 + a2 + a3 +........ + a12 = 288
Now,
When 5 is added to each number.....
(a1 +5) + (a2 + 5)............+ (a12 + 5) = 288 + 12×5
=> Sum of new 12 digits = 288 + 60 = 348
New mean = 348 / 12
= 29
Mean to 12 numbers = 24
=> (a1 + a2 + a3 +.......... + a12) / 12 = 24
=> a1 + a2 + a3 +........ + a12 = 288
Now,
When 5 is added to each number.....
(a1 +5) + (a2 + 5)............+ (a12 + 5) = 288 + 12×5
=> Sum of new 12 digits = 288 + 60 = 348
New mean = 348 / 12
= 29
