the mean of 15 numbers is 5
therefore their sum=15*5=75

if 2 is added to each number then 2 is added to the all the 15 numbers

therefore 2*15 or 30 more will be added to the sum or 75
=75+30=105

therefore new mean = 105/15=7 [mean=sum of observations/no. of observations]

hope this must clear ur doubts

with warm regards,

bye and have a nice day ahead

The mean of 15 numbers is 5, it is said that 2 has been added to every single number....so the new mean will be. mean=5+ 2x15/15. =5+2 =7
